Our Centre for Civic Engagement is meeting with the 16 women and youth activist that are part of our Building a Concerted Movement of Women and Youth on Democracy and Development Project which is taking place today the 4th of July, 2024. This project began in March with a kick-off meeting for all participants in Harare. We moved swiftly to set them up on the Online Incubation Hub– a resource redeveloped especially for the group to curate their learning journey. The journey proceeded with a needs assessment of the challenges that youth and women activists in Zimbabwe face. That needs assessment was the template we used for all our engagements since then, including supporting them with recourses for registration, governance structures and processes (with a focus on broad setup and management) organisational management , talent identification and organisational strategy and long term growth. Our support framework has also included a legal clinic to enable participants to understand how to ensure compliance. Today’s meeting is focused on building strong and sustainable organisations.
