Conversation hosted on ZOOM in partnership with the Institute for African Alternatives

The living rights of citizens are under galloping threat by the impunity of the powerful. The most brutal and clearest expression of this threat is the ongoing genocide inflicted on Palestinians by an Israeli regime that continues to enjoy the support of governments, if not citizens, in the global north. Across Africa, there are also countless examples of government impunity. A crucial question of this panel is: How can citizens realise their own living rights by holding those they have put in power to account?

Join us for a crucial conversation on accountability in Africa. In an era marked by challenges to social justice and human rights, our panel will explore the role of African citizens in holding powerful institutions and leaders accountable.

Tuesday 29 October at 18:00 at Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation, Old Granary Building, 11 Buitenkant Street, Cape Town
