We are excited to share that our What if Series is being rebroadcast on the much-loved Heart and Soul TV (HSTV). The episodes are being rebroadcast every Tuesday at 2pm. The What if series is a collection of development focused conversations that seek to reimagine being and life conditions of African citizens. The show curates ideas and thoughts main by Tendai Murisa but also members of the SIVIO Team.
Tendai started the podcast as small collections of thought pieces in late 2023. From an audio blog to a video podcast, the conversations evolved to include other members of the SIVIO team as we discussed development topics such as elections, local governance, public policy, government accountability, economic development, the practice of giving in Africa, economic development as well as financial inclusion, agrarian reform, and agriculture. This series is mainly focused on our experience e as a team conducting research and hosting dialogues in Zimbabwe however, some aspects of the series discuss material that relate o the rest of the African continent.
To date the best performing episode has been the projection of Zimbabwe over the next years where Tendai postulates what Zimbabwe could look like between 2024 and 2028. This episode was filmed few months after the 2023 election and was aimed at provoking a conversation to promote a unified understanding. of what out potential as a country is and what we could achieve if we worked collectively. IN another episode Tendai and Nonstikelelo Nzula discuss the practice of giving in African communities , a practice we have come to know as philanthropy and more specifically African philanthropy.
