Yolokazi Mfuto, our Country Researcher for South Africa, appeared on ‘Newzroom Afrika’ to discuss her recent report, “South Africa Citizens Watch- Assessment of Actions Implemented by the GNU since July 2024“. The report sheds light on the Government of South Africa’s progress in delivering on the promises outlined in the maiden speech of the Government of National Unity to Parliament on the 18th of July 2024. The report looked at what the government has done from 18 July 2024 to the 19th of February 2025. In the speech, 39 promises were made by the GNU across five (5) sectors: economy, governance, corruption, climate change and social services.
