Inaugural edition of the We Are One Fund newsletter “One Community | One Response”
This newsletter symbolises our shared commitment to transforming how we respond to GBV, from awareness to action, and from intention to impact. We aim to bring you closer to the heart of our work: supporting organisations on the frontlines, mobilising resources, and fostering a culture of collective responsibility.
Reflecting on 2025: Building Momentum for Change
Last year, we laid the groundwork for the We Are One Fund Initiative, focusing on raising its visibility and strengthening local capacity to address GBV. Despite a challenging funding landscape, we made meaningful strides:
- Women in Business High Tea (October 2025): A gathering hosted by the British Deputy Ambassador, where women business leaders in Zimbabwe pledged their support to the cause.
- Social Enterprise Training (November 2025): A four-day workshop empowering partner organisations to diversify funding streams and embrace sustainable models like social entrepreneurship.
- Media Briefing (November 2025): A strategic engagement with 14 media houses to position GBV as a national emergency, amplifying our message across the nation.
- Quiz Night for a Cause (November 2025): A community-driven event that blended awareness, solidarity, and fundraising in a spirit of collaboration.
These efforts were just the beginning. They reflect our unwavering belief that sustainable change is driven by local ownership, innovation, and partnership.
Looking Ahead: Amplifying Our Impact in 2026
As we reflect on the progress made, we are energised to catapult our efforts to even greater heights this year. The We Are One Fund is more than a resource; it is a movement to reimagine how Zimbabwe responds to GBV. In the coming months, we will:
- Share stories of resilience and impact from the organisations we support.
- Provide updates on fundraising initiatives and opportunities for engagement.
Together, we can ensure that no organisation fighting GBV stands alone, and no survivor goes unheard.
