The challenges faced by citizens in an attempt to achieve inclusive democracy are not only experienced on the African continent but they are collective challenges experience worldwide. Our Programs Manager, a 2023 Charles F. Kettering Global Fellow, was part of a week-long meeting (17-21 June) with members of the 2023 Global Fellowships Cohort on Advancing Inclusive Democracies. She joined the 2023 cohort and the incoming 2024 cohort in Ohio, United States to share their experiences and ideas around fostering inclusive democracies. The meeting provided an opportunity to gain new insights but also understand some of the common issues faced worldwide in promoting citizen participation and improving the quality of democracy.
