The Girls Table continues to demonstrate how thoughtful, community-rooted initiatives can deliver meaningful impact with modest resources. With just $1,108 raised, the organisation was able to carry out a series of activities that directly benefited young women and girls in Tsholotsho and St. Peter’s, a peri-urban area of Bulawayo.
Targeted gatherings were held to address menstrual hygiene and mental health, two areas often shaping the well-being and confidence of adolescent girls. The funds covered venue hire, transportation, and food supplies, ensuring that participants could attend comfortably and engage fully. These sessions created safe spaces for open dialogue, learning, and peer support, reinforcing the importance of dignity and mental resilience.
Beyond these events, the support also enabled The Girls Table to sponsor a mentorship lunch for the Tshino Girls Volleyball team, in collaboration with Talent Mathuthu. This gathering blended sport and mentorship, offering the girls a chance to reflect on their goals, hear from role models, and build stronger bonds within their team and community.

Operationally, the funds helped sustain the organisation’s day-to-day efforts. Staff members received transport stipends and data support, allowing them to coordinate activities and maintain communication with community partners. A portion of the donation also went toward office rental costs, helping The Girls Table maintain a stable base from which to plan and deliver its work.
This story is not one of grand gestures, but of consistent, thoughtful action. With just over a thousand dollars, The Girls Table has continued to show that high impact is possible when the focus remains on listening, responding, and staying close to the communities it serves.
